Macedonian Assoc. of London Ontario & Vicinity 

 

The London Chapter is named after the Greek philosopher-scientist, Aristotle, who was the teacher of Alexander the Great.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Establishing the Association

    The first meeting in order to establish the new chapter was held on May 8, 1993, and was organized by Dr, Argirios D. Margaritis, P.Eng., FCC, and Pantelis Spourgitis, P.Eng.-in London, Ontario, Canada.

    Dr. Margaritis and Mr Spourgitis also wrote the constitution and registered the new Chapter under the name: MACEDONIAN ASSOCIATION OF LONDON AND VICINITY "ARISTOTLE" INC. 

    Soon after the constitution was approved, the first elections were held during the first Assembly which was organized on October 31, 1993.

    Founding and first Executive Officers for the first two year term are:  Founding Executive Officers

President: Dr. Argyrios Margaritis, Vice Pres.: Mr Pantelis Spourgitis Secretary: Viky Smiaris, Treasurer: Mr. George Cagianos, Member: Mr. Mike Pispidikis.

Mission Statement:    The mission of the Association is to preserve and promote the Hellenic-Macedonian culture, History, traditions, and heritage among its members, the Greek-Canadian community, and the Canadian society at large.

    Furthermore, in collaboration with all sister Pan-Macedonian Associations around the world, the London Chapter's mission is to represent and to be the spokesman for the Macedonian culture and heritage, which become more than 3,000 years ago in the northern region of Greece, Macedonia.
