Goals, Aims, Administration & Membership ADMINISTRATION The National Council is composed of the following:
NOTE: As of July 1st, 2001 (1st Pan-Mac Convention changes of the constitution) titles of "Regional Governments" have been replaced with "National Vice President". The duties and responsibilities of the National Vice Presidents involve keeping close contact with all organizations in their respective regions. Providing information on goals and aims of the Pan-Macedonian Association and future functions of the organization which are derived from decisions made at the convention, may create new chapters in areas where they do not exist, and it is in their jurisdiction to enroll Macedonian organizations which are not members of the Pan-Macedonian Association, to help in every function of the organizations and chapters of their regions. They are to attend functions and represent the National President and the National Council. Also, National Vice Presidents must pursue good relations with other Greek organizations, religious and consular officials, and to generally cultivate public relations, projecting the work of the Pan-Macedonian Association. Additionally, all past National Presidents are permanent members of the Supreme Council constituting an advisory committee as well as actively participating in various committees, offering their considerable services. ORGANIZATIONS AND RELATIONS WITH PAN-MACEDONIAN ASSOCIATION The Pan-Macedonian Association of Canada does not compete with its member-organizations. On the contrary, it assists as much as it can to bring about the success of their functions and projects. The activity of the Pan-Macedonian Association of Canada starts where the activity of the member-organization ends. It is the extension of the member-organization and moves about on a plane where no single member-organization may act. Its programs and activities require a multi-organizational cooperation and in order for their goals to succeed there is a need for unity and fraternity among the organizations. "In unity there is strength." COMMITTEES In the Pan-Macedonian Association, Inc. several committees exist and operate to cover the wide scope of the Association's responsibilities. The most important ones are: 1) Committee for Macedonian Studies Center Its responsibility is to organize symposia, academic gatherings, lectures, seminars, etc. 2) Committee for the History of The Pan-Macedonian Association, Inc. Its duty is to record the history of the Pan Macedonian Association, Inc. from its founding to the present. 3) Studies and Publications Committee Its duty is to respond to anti-Greek publications which are continuously published; to inform and advise our American and Canadian compatriots about our history; to publish in newspapers and periodicals historical texts and academic studies of Greek and non-Greek archaeologists and historians, and to be aware of anything pertaining to publications and new information.
Its duty is to put together and issue the Newsletter "Macedonian Voice" and mail it to the membership.
Its responsibility is the establishment of libraries, the monitoring of their operations, the forwarding of books to libraries and individuals, the cataloguing and preservation of books in our possession, etc.
Its purpose is to bestow two scholarships annually to high school graduates and another scholarship to be given every three years to a student of post-graduate studies with a specialty in the history of Macedonia.
Sole responsibility is the upholding of the Constitution.
Its responsibility includes the issuing of commemorative coins for official functions of the Pan-Macedonian Association, Inc. and other awards which from time to time the Association confers on various honorees.
Its duty is to purchase a building once resources which are needed to purchase it are made available.
Its responsibility is the collection of funds to support the treasury of the Pan-Macedonian Association, Inc.
Its purpose is to secure land for the construction of housing for the membership in the countryside of Macedonia.
Its duty is all about the erection of a monument to Alexander the Great and the improvements of the Cultural Center of Alexander the Great erected in Litoxoro, Greece.
Its duty is to plan and program events for the future.
Public relations are handled by the Supreme President and all the members of the Supreme Council, especially the Governors. Contact with the membership is the responsibility of the Supreme Council, especially the Governors who easily come in contact with the regional organizations by way of frequently meeting with them.
Its duties entail the maintenance of good relations with organizations and institutions within and without the United States and Canada in order to coordinate our efforts in projecting our history and cultural heritage.
The promotion of our positions on the Macedonian issue, in cooperation with the lobbies of House and Senate committees and officials of the American government, is the primary responsibility of this committee. Also, it has the responsibility of placing advertisements in the American press which will seek to inform and shape public opinion. Summarily, this is the Pan-Macedonian Association, Inc. and these are its aims and pursuits, operating as set forth above. Its motto remains: No organization may remain out of the association, and no individual may remain without the member-organization of the association. The name "Macedonia" has been granted U.S. trademark status and remains as such within the exclusive use of the Pan-Macedonian Association as per the records of the Patent and Trademark Office, June 15, 1993, #1,776,486.
